Highway 395 Series: Your Guide to Experiencing Fall at McGee Creek 🍂
McGee Creek to Horsetail Creek Trail Round trip totals 3.6 miles—took us about 3 hours to complete. So worth it! The views felt even more stunning than Little Lakes Valley, and honestly, more vibrant than the current foliage at North Lake. 😍🏞️ If you're short on time or energy, I still highly recommend hiking to the spot I marked on the map—it would be a shame to miss that view! 🙌 Note: About 0.4 miles in, the trail splits. Take the left path—McGee Creek Spur Trail, the one closer to the creek. It rejoins the main trail a bit later. 🧭 The photos in this post are arranged in the order you’ll see the scenery along the way, starting from the trailhead. Foliage here seems to be at or near peak—perfect for leaf peeping! 🍁 Next week should still be great too. (North Lake, on the other hand, seemed past peak—I’ll share more about that soon!)
