📍 Holbox, near USC in Downtown Los Angeles Nestled inside a vibrant food court, Holbox is a refreshingly approachable Michelin-starred spot specializing in stunningly fresh seafood. With counter seating available inside the restaurant and casual shared tables throughout the food hall, it offers a relaxed yet elevated dining experience. 🍽️✨ The seafood here is incredibly fresh—my personal favorites are the scallop, uni, and octopus leg. The best part? The price is surprisingly reasonable. Today’s entire feast came out to about $98 per person. Parking is convenient and free in the lot behind the food court, with security patrols adding a sense of safety. The area is usually bustling, which adds to the lively vibe. To avoid a long wait, arriving early is key—I came around 5 PM on a Sunday and waited about 35 minutes, which is pretty standard for LA! ⏳🚗 Once seated, the dishes come out incredibly fast—almost everything arrived at once, so you can dive right into the feast. While I didn’t try it this time, Holbox also offers an 8-course tasting menu available for reservation on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6 PM or 8 PM. 🗓️👨‍🍳 Even without the tasting menu, every dish impressed. With tax and tip, the total for two came to $195. 📋 Today’s Order (in photo order): 1️⃣ Erizo Sea Urchin – The best! So fresh, clean, and bursting with ocean flavor. 🏖️💛 2️⃣ Scallop Aguachile – Beautifully plated, and the scallops were tender and bright. 🌶️🍋 3️⃣ Tostada De Kanpachi & Uni – My favorite taco of the day—yellowtail paired wonderfully with rich uni. 🌮🐟 4️⃣ Taco de Pulpo en su Tinta – Octopus was incredibly tender, sweet, and flavorful. 🐙❤️ 5️⃣ Ceviche De Pescado Jurel (Yellowtail) – Just okay; I’d skip it next time since the tostada offered a better version. 6️⃣ Sopa De Mariscos – A warm, comforting seafood stew loaded with mussels, fish, and shrimp. 🥣🦐 Whether you're a seafood lover or a Michelin hunter, Holbox delivers exceptional quality in a laid-back setting.
