Holland America Koningsdam in Alaska: Juneau Stop 🌞🏔️

What a sunny and beautiful day for a half-day visit in Juneau! ☀️ Spent the morning relaxing on the ship: 7:00 AM: Wildlife watching – spotted whales blowing water! (No photo though 🐋) 8:00 AM: Tai Chi open class 🥋 And of course… more eating and drinking 🍽️🥂 Lunch was at Lido Buffet. The Main Dining Room also offered fish and chips! 🐟🍟 Arrived in Juneau at 1:30 PM – the capital of Alaska, accessible only by sea or air 🛳️✈️. No roads lead here! The ship departed at 10:00 PM. We hadn’t booked an excursion in advance due to weather concerns, but right at the pier there were plenty of offers: whale watching, helicopter tours, wildlife tours, dog sledding… 🚁🐕❄️ We chose the basic Mendenhall Glacier bus tour – originally $90 per person, but the vendor gave a $10 discount. Ended up paying $80 + tax per person. ✅ At the glacier park, we saw mountain goats and a black bear! 🐐🐻 We tried twice to get king crab legs at Tracy’s, but the line was way too long 😮‍💨… so we headed back to the ship for more food, drinks, and a relaxing soak! 🛁🍷 #AlaskaCruise #Alaska #JuneauAlaska #BlackBear #GlacierAdventure #TravelDiary 🚢🏔️✨
