Honolulu, Hawaii Food Guide 🌈 Part 1

Followed a mix of Xiaohongshu and Google reviews—no major disappointments! All walk-ins, no reservations. 0️⃣ Ramen Bario Waikiki The star of the trip 🍜!! I came back TWICE for their dipping noodles. Sour-spicy broth, thick noodles—I usually don’t like thick noodles, but these were AMAZING. If you like spice, go for "Fire" level or above 🔥🌶️ 1️⃣ Musubi Café Iyasume Super popular on xhs. Not mind-blowing, but solid. Rice is thick and filling. For ~$3 per musubi, it’s great for breakfast 🍙. Multiple locations in Waikiki—easy to grab. 2️⃣ Ginza Bairin Tonkatsu Pricey 🐷. The tonkatsu was pretty oily. The 200g thick cut set is over $40—not worth it. Gets heavy fast. The cheaper curry set is a better choice. Only go if you really want tonkatsu. 3️⃣ Kona Coffee The only good coffee I found in Waikiki ☕! Their bakery: Strawberry pastry 🍓: MUST TRY, so flaky and delicious! Pineapple croissant: Skip it. Madeleine: Worse than Costco’s. Line looks long but moves fast. Worth it for the strawberry pastry! 4️⃣ Island Vintage Shave Ice Unexpectedly incredible 🍧! Thought it’d be artificial, but it was fresh and fine-textured. Got pineapple + passion fruit with boba. So good I came twice! Could eat this every day. 5️⃣ Maguro Brothers Hawaii Waikiki Extremely fresh thick-cut sashimi 🐟! Highly recommend. Poke was just okay, but the sashimi is a steal. Perfect for taking back to enjoy on your hotel balcony 🌴. 6️⃣ Island Vintage Cafe Overhyped 😓. Bagel: Soft, not toasted well Taro cream: Tasted artificial Papaya yogurt: Bland papaya, sour blueberries Steak bowl: Just average Very heavy for breakfast. If you must go, order online for pickup. 7️⃣ Dole Plantation Pineapple Ice Absolutely delicious 🍍!! Didn’t go into the plantation—just got the pineapple soft serve with fruit topping.
