The San Gabriel skewer spot I’ve loved for years—“Memories Meet Skewers”—is finally back open! 🎉 The newly renovated space has a lovely nostalgic vibe, with a bright and spacious dining hall that makes you feel like you’ve stepped right back into China! They’ve also rolled out exciting new additions: marinated dishes, fresh hand-sliced meats like吊龙and五花趾, plus a whole lineup of desserts—tofu pudding, snow ice, and specialty drinks 🍧🥤. From Dec 18–25, they’re even hosting a fun mahjong card-guessing game where you can win free dishes and prizes! 🀄️🎁 🍲 Broth options are plentiful—pork stomach & chicken, bone broth, split pot, Guizhou sour soup, and more. I always go for their spicy beef tallow hot pot 🌶️, and now you can add fresh duck blood curd while it simmers—so tender and silky, really unique! 👉 Skewers are still just a few cents each—all the classics like marinated spicy beef, chicken gizzard, and beef-wrapped enoki mushrooms are here. Plus, there are now small-bowl dishes and marinated items, mostly just a few dollars each. Think tripe, preserved vegetable, braised beef tendon, meatballs, abalone, shrimp paste… take whatever you like! 🍢 The free cold appetizer station may not have tons of options, but each one is delicious—especially the spicy sour chicken feet. We finished five plates! 😋 Another standout is the “Eight-Egg Fried Rice” 🍳—I usually skip carbs during hot pot, but this one caught my eye! Loaded with diced luncheon meat and wok aroma, topped with three soft-boiled eggs… so fragrant and satisfying!
