Hotel Figueroa in Los Angeles 🏨
Hotel Figueroa has a pretty long history and carries the charming vibe of an old-school inn from the last century. 🕰️✨ Its early beginnings were as a women-only hotel, which explains the subtle feminist touches you’ll notice throughout the property. 👭🌿 Located on Figueroa St. in DTLA, it’s just about two blocks away from the Staples Center—super convenient if you’re in town for a game! 🏀🎉 On game days, the rates are surprisingly reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. Even on regular days, staying here costs around 1100-1200 RMB, which is quite a good deal for a Category 4 hotel in DTLA. 💰✅ That said, the hotel doesn’t really give off a Cat 4 vibe—it feels more like a Cat 1 or 2. Upgrades are pretty much nonexistent. 😅 We booked a more affordable accessible room over 30 sqm, but the “upgrade” we got was… a standard room just over 20 sqm that was slightly more expensive. 🤷♀️📏 The room itself is seriously compact, and the bathroom is extra mini—like, really small. 🚽🛁 It’s outfitted with a combo bathtub and shower, the kind you often see in budget chain hotels. The boxed water provided in the room doesn’t taste great, and we suspect it has a short shelf life after opening—better avoid drinking it the next day. 🚱👎 Breakfast is à la carte, and the portions are huge! 🍳☕ One main dish plus a drink is included, and it’s complimentary for Globalist members. 🥂 The gym is basically not worth mentioning, and we didn’t use the pool. 🏊♂️❌ But the public areas have some lovely decorative details, and the lobby is cozy and stylish. 🖼️💖 Valet parking is the only option through the hotel, and the price is pretty steep. 💸 However, there’s a self-parking lot right next to the valet area where overnight parking costs about half the price. 🅿️👍 There are several parking lots nearby, but we don’t recommend walking too far at night—DTLA can get pretty sketchy after dark. 🌃🚨 While driving, we even saw someone wandering around with a hammer, and let’s just say the eye contact was… intense. 😳🔨 Overall, the staff at Hotel Figueroa are warm and friendly. 😊👏 Room Cleanliness: 7/10 (The hotel is dated, so it doesn’t feel super fresh) Decor: 7/10 Amenities: 6/10 View: 4/10 (Just some rundown building views 🏢) The Rest Breakfast: 7/10 Upgrade: 3/10 Staff Attitude: 8/10 Public Areas: 8/10 Facilities: 6/10 #LosAngeles #HotelReview #DTLA #HistoricHotel #TravelLA #BudgetStay #HotelLife #CityBreak #FeministVibes #StaplesCenter #CaliforniaTravel
