Hotel Review – Le Meridien Pasadena Arcadia 🏨
Last week, I took a short vacation in LA and stayed at Le Meridien Pasadena Arcadia, a four-star Marriott property. It’s located in a wealthy, predominantly Asian neighborhood, which feels relatively safe. Parking is valet-only, so when booking, you can choose a package that includes it—three nights cost me $770. The valet service was quick, and I didn’t have to worry about break-in risks. 🚗💨 If you’re renting a car in LA, it’s better to keep it low-key to avoid unwanted attention. 📍 Location: Surrounded by plenty of great restaurants, so dining is no issue at all. San Gabriel is just a 10+ minute drive away, making it easy to find authentic Chinese food. However, downtown LA, Universal Studios, and other attractions are a bit farther. Since LA traffic is unpredictable, plan your time wisely! 🚦⏳ 🎨 Hotel Style: Calling it four-star feels a bit generous—hotel standards in the U.S. can be underwhelming. The vibe is minimalist, almost budget-friendly. But compared to other older hotels in the area, this one is newer, so the maintenance and decor are at least tolerable. At check-in, they mentioned we’d have a “mountain view” room and that we’d love it. We arrived at night and saw nothing but darkness. In the morning, we did see the mountains… but also a huge construction site right in front, so the view was definitely compromised. 🏔️🚧 🛏️ Room Experience: The room was clean—no obvious issues with hygiene or flaws. But when it comes to decor, it’s pretty bland. The mattress and pillows were extremely soft and sank right in—I prefer something firmer. The bedding was acceptable for the price. I requested a room with a bathtub to relax, but it was tiny—I could only sit halfway in. 🛁 Other than that, no major complaints about the hardware. Service was responsive and helpful. 🍽️ Dining & Bar: The restaurant had good reviews online, but I didn’t try it. I did order a drink at the bar—recommended by the bartender—but it wasn’t my taste. The atmosphere was nice though, and there were quite a few Chinese guests staying and drinking there. 🍸 ⭐ Overall Rating: 3 out of 5. Probably wouldn’t stay here again. 📌 A Small Incident: When I ordered a drink, I left my bags on a side table in the lounge. Later, I realized I’d forgotten a paper bag with some small purchases. When I went back to look, it was gone—likely taken by someone. I asked the front desk if they could check the cameras, but they said only the manager had access, and she was on vacation. They promised to follow up, but so far, no news. 📦😔 Have you stayed at Le Meridien Pasadena Arcadia? What’s your favorite mid-range hotel in the LA area?
