How to Eat at LA’s Hot Spot Chubby Cattle Without the Crazy Wait! 🥩
My friends said they waited 3.5 hours after arriving at 5:30 PM last time. We planned to line up at 4 PM, but then checked and saw they open at 12 PM on Friday–Sunday. We arrived at 11:40 AM, walked right in when they opened — lunch is way less crowded! Even after 1 PM, several tables were still empty. So if you don’t want to wait — go for lunch! You can also join the waitlist on Yelp and head over when your table is ready. 🥩 We ordered the $88 Diamond tier. Even though it’s AYCE, you won’t eat your money’s worth — the limited-order items alone filled us up, so we barely touched the regular meats. A5 wagyu is rich and gets filling fast — tasty, but not the best value at this price. The A5 Chuck Eye came on a separate plate and was pretty heavy; the first layer in the box tasted better. 🍣 Wagyu & Uni Sushi was the STAR ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🦐 Sweet Shrimp was a close second! 🐟 Tuna sushi wasn’t my favorite. 🦪 Oysters, scallops, lobster tail were just okay. We also ordered steamed egg, corn cheese, beef tartare — all average. The spicy miso soup was seriously spicy. 🍍 The pineapple was canned — skip if you want fresh. 🍦 I expected scoopable ice cream, but they only had mango and green bean popsicle-style bars — basically a green bean ice pop. 💁 Staff seemed a bit stretched — even with fewer people at lunch, we waited a while to get the check. 📋 Menu at the end shows what’s included in each tier. Overall, next time I’d probably go for the $46 tier — that’s where you can really enjoy the AYCE vibe without overdoing it 😂. 📍 Chubby Cattle 501 W Garvey Ave #108, Monterey Park, CA 91754 #LAexplore #LAfood #LAWagyu #LAKBBQ #LAJapanese #ChubbyCattle #Wagyu #A5Wagyu 🥢🔥
