How to Explore Kansas in the Midwestern US 🌻🦕

Heading north on I-35 🚗, we arrived in Kansas—even less crowded than Ohio with fewer attractions, but still full of unique charm 🌾. And of course, there’s Kansas City BBQ! 🍖 Shortly after entering Kansas from Ohio, we stopped at the Kansas Travel Information Center 🛣️. There’s a simple gift shop here, and you can even get a free packet of Kansas sunflower seeds! 🌻 Continuing north, we reached Wichita ️. Key attractions include: 🦕 Museum of World Treasures – Located in Wichita’s Old Town, it features exhibits from dinosaur fossils to ancient civilizations. Great for kids! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 🗿 The Keeper of the Plains – A massive Native American chief statue by the river, serving as the city’s iconic cultural symbol. 🦋 Botanica – The Wichita Botanical Gardens with 30+ themed gardens and beautiful seasonal scenery. Also features a carousel! 🎠 If time allows, check out Tanganyika Wildlife Park 🦒, Strataca Underground Salt Museum ⛏️, or the Cosmosphere Space Museum 🚀. Heading further toward Kansas City, you’ll pass: 🌾 Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve – One of the last remaining tallgrass prairies in the US, showcasing pristine grasslands and ecosystems. Similar hikes can be found at Konza Prairie Nature Trail. 🌻 Sunflower Farms – A Kansas specialty! We visited *5950 SE Croco Rd, Berryton, KS 66409*. Also Grinter Farms and Sunflower Patch. 🏛️ Kansas State Capitol – Located in Topeka, known for its stunning dome and John Brown murals. Before reaching Kansas City, you’ll pass the University of Kansas 🏀—worth a quick stop if you have time! In Kansas City, Kansas, visit Kaw Point Park to see where the Kansas River meets the Missouri River 🌊. For BBQ, highly recommend Joe’s KC BBQ 🍗—their ribs and burnt ends are amazing! 😋 #Kansas #KansasCity #UniversityOfKansas #Wichita #Sunflowers #BBQ #HiddenGems #MidwestUSA
