How to Explore Kyoto Like a Pro ποΈ Must-Do City Walk Route (2)
Daio-in πΏ I happened to catch the special opening of Daio-in's Gion Pavilion. πΈπ The entire tower's walls are covered with murals copied by the Chinese painter Ge Xinmin from the Dunhuang frescoes. πΈπThe craftsmanship is exquisite and definitely worth a visit. π Maruyama Park πΈ There's a cherry blossom grove here, along with many snack stalls. It's a popular spot for locals to take their kids and relax. π Chion-in π― The largest temple in Kyoto, and the place where the New Year's Eve bell is rung (home to Japan's largest bronze bell). πΈπ It even has vending machines that automatically recite sutras after you purchase something! π juju π Continuing north, there are many boutique porcelain shops along the way. I bought two antique teacups from Kujira Kiln and a handmade small plate. πΈπ I also stumbled upon juju's fried pork cutlet, which comes in several varieties, each carefully prepared from different parts of the pig. It was delicious! #Kyoto πΏ
