Spend a day enjoying a less-crowded version of Kiyomizu-dera, national treasure gardens, boutique shops, the quaint Kyoto University autonomous zone, and the stunning Kamogawa River at dusk... The Yasaka Pagoda is already backlit by then, and although Kiyomizu-dera isn't too crowded, it's nearly impossible to take a photo without people. ππ’ Consider starting even earlier! β©οΈ Kiyomizu-dera Start by heading to Mizu-no-kotoba Pavilion for a distant view of the Yasaka Pagoda. ππ’Walk through Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka, and finally arrive at Kiyomizu-dera. It's a lovely place for an early morning stroll, especially during cherry blossom season. Kodai-ji The karesansui (dry landscape) garden is stunning, perfect for cherry blossom viewing in spring and autumn foliage in fall. ππ’ There's also a small bamboo grove within the garden. ππ’If you arrive too early and the temple isn't open yet, you can visit the Reiko-ji Kannon Hall nearby. #Kyoto π
