How to Explore the Picturesque Lake Louise

A Two-Day, One-Night Trip to Banff National Park—We flew from Vancouver to Calgary, rented a car in Calgary (CAD 300 for two days), and drove to Lake Louise. 🏠 Accommodation: Since there were four of us, we chose a two-bedroom bungalow at Paradise Lodge & Bungalows near Lake Louise. Backed by snow-capped mountains and woods, it was quiet and clean, with free parking—highly recommended. 🥘 Restaurants: We picked Lake Louise Railway Station & Restaurant. The restaurant was originally a train station, with lots of old train-related items inside—it’s really interesting. Trains still pass by on the adjacent tracks now. We didn’t have high expectations for the food, but it was surprisingly good. The bison short rib is highly recommended—slow-cooked to perfection, so tender. Another recommended restaurant for brunch: Bluebird Wood-fired Steakhouse. The interior is beautiful, with exposed wooden frames, and there’s a large fireplace in the middle of the room (sitting by the fire must be cozy in winter). Try the soufflé pancake. Lake Louise: There are lots of people taking photos right in front of the lake, but if you walk further back, the views are similar—some spots might even be more beautiful, and they’re relatively less crowded, making it easy to get great shots 📷. 🚣 Boat Rental: It’s highly recommended. The deeper you go, the bluer the lake water gets, and it’s amazing to get up close to the water. Boat rentals are organized by the Fairmont Hotel—you can queue up and pay on-site. Each boat can hold a maximum of three adults, or two adults plus two children. The cost is CAD 135 for 30 minutes, CAD 145 for an hour. Fairmont Hotel guests pay CAD 95 per hour. We were worried about the sun, so we only rented a boat for 30 minutes. While an hour is better value, 30 minutes was enough for us. #BanffNationalPark #CanadaTravel #LakeLouise #BanffTravel #BanffGuide #VancouverArea
