Hyatt Centric LA Santa Monica (Formerly Le Méridien) 🏨🌊

The Hyatt Centric in Santa Monica used to be a Le Méridien hotel. As a lifestyle-focused brand located in popular areas targeting Gen Z guests, Hyatt Centric seamlessly continues the Le Méridien vibe. The room style feels very much like Le Méridien—especially the bedding. 🛏️ The hotel isn’t right in the busiest part of Santa Monica, but it’s about a 5-minute walk to the beach and around 15 minutes to the pier. It’s actually pretty quiet at night, and there aren’t many unhoused individuals nearby. As a World of Hyatt member, I got a standard one-category upgrade to an ocean-view room. The view was absolutely stunning—very Santa Monica, very LA, very West Coast. 🌅 The lobby feels a bit dated and compact, and the bar and restaurant areas are small. Breakfast during peak season would probably be crowded.
