I’ve been to Switzerland several

I’ve been to Switzerland several times but never visited its capital—finally checked that off my list this time! ✅ I took the Flixbus from Lyon, and we ran into border checks. First, they checked everyone’s passports one by one on the bus. Then they randomly selected a few people to get off and have their luggage inspected. After that, for some unknown reason, everyone had to get off to retrieve their luggage… but nothing really happened. We waited a bit, then put our luggage back, and the whole hassle took nearly an hour before we were allowed to go. 🚌🛂 Pro tip: Download the BernWelcome App in advance! Ask your hotel or hostel for an activation code, and you’ll get free rides on most urban transport during your stay. 🚇 But here’s the thing—I boarded the bus with the ticket shown on the app, but the female driver insisted I get off to buy a physical ticket. Again, no idea why, so I just did it first. A 1-hour valid ticket cost 5.2 CHF. 💶 Later, when I mentioned this to the front desk at my accommodation, they even called the manager! The manager refunded the ticket price to me in cash, took my ticket, and said they’d follow up with the bus company. Oh my goodness, my for Bern skyrocketed instantly! 😍 Bern, the "Bear City," is really small. 🐻 It only takes 30 minutes to walk from the train station square to the Rosengarten (Rose Garden) on the hillside. With photo stops and breaks, you can see the whole thing in half a day. Unfortunately, I hit a holiday—Ascension Day—so most shops were closed. 😔 But Bern is perfect for window shopping! Medieval-style arcades run along the main streets, with shops everywhere. When you’re tired, just stop at the fountains in the middle of the road to get a drink—there are over a hundred fountains in the old town, each with a unique design. 💧 I took a photo outside Einstein’s House—this is where the brilliant old man developed the theory of relativity! 🧠 At the Bear Pit, the bears were asleep, so I only got to see their big heads. 🐻 One thing that stood out: there are way too many overhead power lines, which kind of ruins the view. ⚡ And as always, things are super expensive— a plate of chow mein at a Chinese restaurant costs around 25 CHF, which is over 200 RMB! 🍜 Better to go to Coop: a half-roast chicken is only 6.95 CHF—total a steal here! 🍗 #Bern #Switzerland
