I’ve let the Sichuan-Chongqing region down… 😩
Mr. Crabby’s Seafood Kitchen and Bar – San Antonio I really thought I could handle it. When I confidently told the server, “Extra spicy!” 🤠🌶️, his smirk and side-eye clearly said, “Let’s see how long you last.” Gotta admit – the seafood portions were huge! 🦐🐚 I even added extra potatoes and corn (which, by the way, already come in the boil – no need to order more). The flavor was seriously intense… so intense that I chugged five large glasses of ice water 🥤💦. Every time the server passed by, he asked, “Everything okay?” 😏 At first, I smiled and said, “Good!” But soon… I couldn’t even speak. All I could do was gesture desperately: “Water… more water!” 😫 By the end, my nose was running, tears were streaming, and my lips were swollen. My friend suggested, “Should we ask for a bowl of water to rinse the food?” But my Chongqing DNA wouldn’t let me make such a shameful move! 🧬✊ Result? My stomach hurt for a whole day after. 🤢 Final life lesson: Don’t challenge spice levels beyond your ability! 🙏😂 #SpicyFail #MrCrabbys #SanAntonioEats #CajunFood #SeafoodBoil #ChongqingPride #LessonsLearned
