I found a Moroccan restaurant in Philadelphia—Marra.
📍 Marrakesh | A Surprising Discovery in the Alley of South Street Take a turn from the bustling South Street into the alley, and push open an inconspicuous little door. You’ll be instantly transported into an Arab world! The place is decked out in Moroccan style, with colorful mosaics on the walls, low sofas, and metal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Every detail exudes mystery and romance. 👨🍳 But the most special thing about this place isn’t the decor—it’s the owner! He’s incredibly warm and friendly, even remembering the names of every table’s guests. He greeted us with an air of “you’re my relatives.” He even secretly took our drinks off the bill, saying, “I didn’t put your drinks in the check, they’re on the house. Because I really wanna see you guys again.” I was like: Definitely! See you next Saturday. 🤭 🍽 It’s a set menu here, with 7 courses for $40 per person. 🥗 Appetizer: Homemade salad, tangy and super refreshing. 🥚 The second dish: A sweet and savory baked egg dish with cinnamon and powdered sugar. I couldn’t really get into it, but my friend loved it so much that she took it home to enjoy later. 🍗 Main Courses: • Slow-cooked roast chicken. The meat just falls off the bone with a fork. It’s incredibly tender! • Beef Kebab. The meat isn’t aged, so it has a more rustic texture. It’s decent, but I’d recommend trying the lamb instead. 🍚 Staple: Hand rice, but it doesn’t seem to be regular rice. It feels more like millet? Anyway, it’s a healthy option that health-conscious diners will love. #Philadelphia #RestaurantRecommendation #StudentExploration #PhillyLife #PhillyFood #PhillyExploration
