I really like Galle Fort.

Galle Fort, once listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is also one of the must-visit small towns in Sri Lanka! I was initially drawn to its architectural style. 🌈🌈 🐾As a former colony, it combines the architectural styles of Portugal, the Netherlands, and Britain, exuding a strong sense of history. After arriving, I really felt that it was much more interesting and cleaner than Colombo.🍒 🌟The entire fort is small and can be explored in one afternoon, but I think it's worth staying for two or three days to slowly experience it. The streets are lined with many handicraft shops, exquisite cafes, and Sri Lanka's most famous gemstones. 👀 There are also warm local people—Ceylon's smiles live up to their reputation! Walking here, it reminds me of the feeling in Kashgar Ancient City.☕☕ 🎁At sunset, you can enjoy the sea breeze by the coast or stand on the city walls; it's a small town that slows down time. But❗️I really didn't expect it to be so expensive. I thought the prices would be similar to Southeast Asian countries like Thailand and Malaysia, but it turned out that everything was priced in US dollars. 💵 The meal in the last picture cost about 400 RMB, which is on par with or even exceeds that in Shanghai .I tried the famous Spa Ceylon massage here—a 90-minute full-body oil spa cost 66 US dollars .⛲⛲ 😍To be honest, at the same price, it's really not as good as those in Shanghai. A bit disappointing. 🏠 Accommodation There are few options inside the fort. The better ones are heritage hotels, but they are very expensive 🙉 There are also a few homestays. We stayed in a family villa about 10 minutes by car outside the fort. Probably due to the climate here, there were many flies in the yard, and there were cockroaches in the bathroom .🏡🏡 Later, we wanted to move to a place inside the fort. I checked a few places in person, which were okay, but there were no rooms available those days. Note them down—you can remember to book in advance.🎈 📍 The Fort Printers It's a hotel, as well as a restaurant and café, around 1,000 RMB.💘 📍 Moi Galle Fort by DBI A homestay with a lower price. The rooms are small but clean, and it's also a café, around 400 RMB.💓 🚚 Transportation: It took about 2.5 hours by train from Colombo. The scenery along the way is beautiful, passing by the coast! Buy tickets at window 4 of Colombo Fort Railway Station (second-class). 💚💚 For first-class seats, you need to book one day in advance. Galle Railway Station is very close to the fort; you can take an Uber or a tuk-tuk, which takes about 10 minutes.💖 🛍️ Oh, by the way, I visited several gemstone shops. Are there any knowledgeable friends out there? The moonstone necklace and the colorful stone bracelet in were both quoted at around 150 US dollars. Is that reliable?? 🤣 I felt it might be a bit of a rip-off at that time, so I didn't buy them. In the end, I only bought Spa Ceylon's coconut oil—it smells good and is very moisturizing.
