I want the recipe for this bowl of beef soup! 😭😭
Before I tasted this Hungarian beef soup, I always imagined it would taste like borscht (Russian beet soup). No way! Compared to borscht, which has a mild and slightly sweet-sour flavor, Hungarian beef soup is much more straightforward. It hits your taste buds right away! My recommendations: 1️⃣ Foie Gras Eat this first! Otherwise, the strong flavors of the beef soup will overpower the delicate taste of the foie gras. The foie gras here is quite light. It seems like they just lightly pan-fry it and serve it with a sauce. The sauce is made from Tokaji Aszú wine—like liquid gold. Its sweetness is not cloying at all! Impressive! 👍 2️⃣ Beef Goulash This is a national Hungarian dish, actually quite salty and spicy. If you're not used to heavy flavors, you might not like it. But I really enjoyed it! 😊😊 In one bite, you can taste the blend of paprika and Western-style spices. The beef is tender, and the potatoes practically melt in your mouth. There are also fresh green pepper rings in the dish, which add a refreshing touch to the soup. So delicious! 😭 As for the dumplings, I thought they would be like the potato starch dumplings that come with German pork knuckles, but they don't have much potato flavor. They’re more like soft, fluffy dough balls. It took me about 20 minutes to read the menu. The foie gras is the first item on the right-hand page, and the beef goulash is the second-to-last item on the next page. You can show the picture or just name the dishes. Relax, it’s fine. 😊 The currency in Hungary is the forint. I suggest paying by card directly. Although this restaurant accepts euros, they give change in forints, which might be hard to spend elsewhere. I really like the restaurant's slogan: "The cozy restaurant where the owner is the chef." The restaurant is truly warmly decorated.💕💕 I hope everyone gets a chance to experience it. #HiddenGemRestaurant #Foodie #Travel #Budapest #HungarianCuisine #EuropeanFood #LesserKnown #Hungary #Europe #FoodDiary
