If you can only eat at ONE Chinese restaurant
I’d pick Da Pai Dang without a doubt. I’ve lost count of how many friends from “Chinese food desert” states have been wowed here — and I’ve been a thousand times myself, having tried almost everything on the menu. ✅ Consistent quality ✅ Reasonable prices ✅ Authentic, lively vibe — honestly, I can’t find a single flaw. Just like its name suggests, it’s all about wok hei stir-fries and street-style BBQ skewers. The dishes here — in looks, flavor, and creativity — stand out even in SGV’s competitive food scene. The red-checkered tablecloths and nostalgic Hong Kong-style murals set the mood just right. I’m especially obsessed with their Cantonese-style clay pot series Chicken wings clay pot Sweet & sour ribs Perilla iron plate bullfrog😍😊 — all must-orders every time! If you come for late-night eats, their skewers are seriously worth it. Hidden gem: Stir-fried luosifen — the sour bamboo shoots are so authentic, it’s like being back in Liuzhou! Also, the steamed oyster pot is even fresher and tastier than grilled oysters 🦪. They even have live music at night, making it feel just like a real Chinese night market. Oh, and there are private karaoke rooms too — talk about versatile! No matter how many times I go, my love for this place never fades. Da Pai Dang really represents what LA’s Chinese food scene is all about. 🫶 Da Pai Dang 📍 250 W Valley Blvd # L, San Gabriel, CA 91776 #FoodReview #LADining #LAEats #ChineseFood #SGVFood #SanGabrielEats #MustTryLA
