Irvine｜Kiyo Sushi & Sake – Incredible Uni Heaven 🍣

Kiyo has been my go-to spot since 2019, though I’ve watched their uni don go from $48 to $58–62 😅. Still worth it! 🟡 Uni Don You can order it pure uni or topped with toro & ikura. I usually get the pure uni bowl and add a side of toro/ikura sushi. 🟡 Uni Box – $140 They offer Santa Barbara and Japanese uni boxes. I prefer SB uni—plumper and richer. Japanese uni is smaller and less satisfying for me. 🟡 Uni Hand Roll vs. Uni Sushi Hand roll: $28 (not the best value). Uni sushi: $8 each—stacked super thick! Way more worth it. 🟡 Uni Tofu Not my favorite—too little uni 😢. 🟡 Sushi Highlights • Chu-toro & Wagyu sushi are must-orders. • Sometimes they have otoro (fatty tuna)—super rich and melty, but not always available. 🟡 Ankimo (Monkfish Liver) A recent discovery—so fragrant and rich, slightly lighter than foie gras.
