Irvine|My Korean Neighbors Took Me to a Spot Packed with Koreans!
Had dinner over the weekend with our Korean neighbors who run a bakery — they brought us to an old-school Korean spot they frequent, specializing in Korean spicy hot pot! Just a 13-minute drive, and walking in — every single customer was Korean. Been living here for years and never knew this place existed! 🥓 Napa Wrap with Braised Pork Thick-cut braised pork belly, tender and clean (no porky taste). Served with pickled radish, shrimp paste, and bean paste — wrap in napa cabbage or lettuce. So good in one bite! 🥩 BBQ Beef Short Rib The ribs here are thick and tender. I like that they don’t char them too much — keeps the natural flavor and feels healthier. 🍖 Galbi Tang (Beef Bone Soup) A classic — my partner’s must-order everywhere. They even have a limited upgraded version with extra brisket and brisket point. 🐟 Fish Roe Stew Surprisingly they had fish roe stew! Knowing I can’t handle too much spice, they avoided the spicy hot pot this time — but this stew’s spice level was totally manageable. Next time I’m trying their spicy hot pot! According to our neighbors, their Octopus & Monkfish Hot Pot is the star — they order it often. But they wanted to play it safe for my first visit… leaving something to look forward to next time! 😉 P.S. Shoutout to our neighbors’ bakery — Bag of Cake! Amazing cakes with tons of options 🍰❤️ #100RestaurantsChallenge #IrvineEats #IrvineFood #IrvineKorean #KoreanHotPot #IrvineLife
