Irvine | My Most-Visited Japanese Spot – Sagami
Sagami was my first restaurant in Irvine, so there's some nostalgia, but the flavors hold up—good value and solid recommendations. 🥚 Egg Omelette (Tamagoyaki) – A must-order! Served chilled, slightly sweet—perfect as an appetizer or light dessert. 🍱 Hitsumabushi (Eel Rice Bowl) – Recommended! Honestly, I love the plump, glossy rice even more than the eel. Comes with a card explaining four ways to enjoy it—fun and tasty! 🍗 Nagoya Style Jidori Chicken Wings – Recommended! Well-seasoned, fried just right. 🍣 Sushi – Recommended! Tried 4–5 varieties—anything with crunchy or spicy elements was great. Rainbow roll was just okay. 🐙 Takoyaki – Recommended! Crispy outside, tender inside—watch out, they’re hot! 🐟 Grilled Sanma (Pacific Saury) – Recommended! Personal preference—I enjoy it, but my partner found it strong. Lots of bones, but isn't that part of slowing down with a drink? 📸 Last pic—can’t recall the name, but remember it was delicious! #Irvine #IrvineEats #IrvineJapanese #IrvineLife 🍱🎌✨
