Irvine Area Restaurants Vol. 1: A Hidden French Gem in the Mall 🇫🇷✨

📍 Populaire, South Coast Plaza First up is my go-to French spot 🍴—I usually visit once a week or every other week. I’ve basically tried everything on the menu by now lol 😆. Their service is great (depending on the server, but my regular server always gives a fantastic experience). 💰 Prices are a bit on the higher side, but it’s never crowded—hardly any wait! Here are some of my favorite dishes: 🦆 Duck Breast – Their meat is incredibly tender and just melts in your mouth! The sauce is a perfect balance of sweet and savory. This is usually my main dish whenever I go. 🍞 Ratatouille + Cheese & Egg with Toast – Yep, just like the one in Ratatouille, but they use a more traditional style (like a French-style mixed veggie stew). They added their own twist with cheese 🫕 and a sunny-side-up egg 🍳, served with toast. I often have leftovers to take home and enjoy for breakfast the next day! 🥩 10oz. Prime Chateau Steak – Super flavorful steak with a rich, savory sauce. The portion is huge—I couldn’t even finish it! 🧅 Onion Soup – My absolute must-order every time! The cheese is super rich 🫕, and there’s bread 🥖 inside the soup. For me, the salt level is just right, but my parents thought it was a bit salty. Oh, and sometimes they offer a chef’s pre-fix tasting menu—some dishes are amazing, others depend on your personal taste! That’s all for this week’s share!
