Irvine Folks, Y’all Deserve Better Pastries 😅

After seeing so many recommendations for this Irvine French patisserie, I decided to give it a try while passing through. Wanted to try the Saint‑Honoré, but it was sold out 😔 So I went with Lemon Tart, Paris‑Brest, and Canelé instead. 🍋 Lemon Tart – Honestly, it was just okay, but compared to the others, it was the best of the bunch. The crust and lemon filling were standard, but the presentation was lovely — looked like a little sunny egg 🥚 🧁 Paris‑Brest – The choux pastry wasn’t crispy at all, just soft and doughy. The hazelnut cream inside was stiff and not smooth — felt like too much gelatin was added. The hazelnut chocolate crunch at the bottom tasted nice, though. 🍮 Canelé – This was… honestly laughable. Even before buying, it looked a bit off. After cutting it open — hollow + collapsed inside 😳 How do they even sell this? Took one bite — texture like modeling clay — and tossed it. Since I went after a meal, I didn’t try their breads or breakfast items. Prices are reasonable (under $10 per pastry), but the execution needs serious work. I visited the South Coast location — might give it another shot for other desserts or breakfast items in the future… maybe. #LALife #LAFood #LosAngeles #IrvineEats #FrenchPastry #Canelé #SaintHonoré
