Irvine folks... you deserve better pastries! 😅🧁
After seeing so many recommendations for this Irvine French bakery, I decided to stop by while passing through. I originally wanted the Saint-Honoré, but it was sold out, so I went with a Lemon Tart, Paris-Brest, and Canelé. Lemon Tart 🍋: Decent but not amazing. The crust and filling were fine, and it looked beautiful — like a little sunshine egg. The best of the three, honestly. Paris-Brest 🥨: The choux pastry was soft, not crispy. The hazelnut cream was oddly stiff and gelatinous, though the crushed hazelnut-chocolate base tasted nice. Canelé 🍮: The real letdown. It looked questionable even before buying — hollow, collapsed, dense like clay. One bite and… into the trash it went. 🗑️ Since I went after a meal, I didn’t try their breads or breakfast items. Prices are fair (under $10 per pastry), but the execution needs work. This was the South Coast location — maybe I’ll give their other items a try someday, but for now… Irvine, I know you can do better! 🙏 #IrvineBakeries #FrenchPastryLA #PastryLetdown #CaneléFail #ParisBrest #LemonTart #IrvineEats #DessertReview #BakeriesOfIrvine #SoCalFood #HonestOpinion #TryBetterNextTime #SweetToothProblems #FoodieTruth #LAEats #NotWorthTheHype #RoomForImprovement #EatLocal #CaliforniaSweets #KeepSearching
