Newly minted Michelin one‑star omakase in 2024 Located near Laguna Beach, just steps from the ocean Went during the soft evening light and walked over slowly — a lovely approach 🌅 The tableware and presentation here are beautiful. Style leans modern fusion — not the classic Edomae path. Varied formats, high freshness — chef said ingredients are flown in from Japan. Three memorable highlights: 🦀 Kegani (hairy crab) — Satisfying for crab lovers who hate shelling 🍣 Hokkaido uni — Delicate, sweet, creamy 🥩 A5 Wagyu — Lightly seared, gentle umami richness The 19‑course menu included 3 types of sashimi and about 7‑8 nigiri. By the later courses, it felt quite filling — even sushi started leaning into sashimi style for me. After the meal, they take a Polaroid photo as a keepsake 🖼️ and gift a bottle of sake.
