Is That Old-School Malay Flavor Still There on the Eastside? 🤔
Hadn't been to Malay Satay Hut in ages! Last time was at their old location with a big group—remembered some dishes being amazing, especially the skewers. Just found out they moved! 🏃💨 The new spot is in the same Bellevue plaza as YGF Malatang. The interior is more modern now. Went at 6 PM and only three tables were occupied. We ordered three dishes and waited half an hour... ⏳ At that rate, we could’ve had a whole Dongbei stew cooked and eaten warm by now. 😒 Beef Skewers 🥓 The meat was so tough. Not sure if it was overcooked or always like this with pre-made stuff. We wanted a quick starter, but it came with the other dishes after that long wait. 🙄 Recommended 🌟 Hainanese Chicken Rice Honestly, the only decent dish of the night. The chicken was tender, and the sauce with chicken oil rice was nice 👍—though the rice was a bit hard, maybe overcooked or leftover. Still pretty good overall. Recommended 🌟🌟 Friend’s Noodle Dish (forgot the name) Came with a wonton soup. She said the wontons tasted store-bought, not handmade. Noodles were just okay—nothing special. Final Thoughts: Just go for the Hainanese Chicken Rice! 🍚🐔 The rest… up to you. 😅 #SeattleFood #SeattleEats #SeattleFoodScene #BellevueEats #MalayFood
