It’s Hard to Believe This Ktown Korean Rice Bowl Spot

All side dishes are included in the rice bowl set. We ordered: The rice bowl is $28.99 per person, with a minimum of two orders — I think that’s totally reasonable! Two people getting two rice bowls without any extras is definitely enough food. 🤩 Highlights ✅ First, they brought out a bowl of soup and said, “This is your drinking water.” We were so confused and double-checked 😅 Turns out it’s roasted rice water — super fragrant and rich in rice flavor. Anyone who loves crispy rice crust will adore this! ✅ The rice 🍚 is mixed with oats, which gives it a fuller, nuttier texture compared to plain white rice. The bibimbap itself focuses on health and variety of toppings — nothing fancy, but they’ve perfected this one dish so well there’s really nothing to criticize. ✅ Toward the end of the meal, they served dessert — sticky corn with sweet red beans 🌽❤️ I’ve never seen this combo before, and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! Served warm, I even asked for an extra bowl. I’d go back just for this! The persimmon stuffed with walnuts was also tasty, but that was more of an expected kind of good. ✅ Great service from a Korean auntie who asked if it was our first time and carefully explained every dish as it arrived. She even came over to remind us we could get more rice if we wanted. When packing leftovers, she told us it was self-service with plenty of containers to take everything home. Super friendly and warm — the kind of service that makes the experience 20% better! 😐 Just Okay ⭕️ The raw marinated crab 🦀 was alright — good enough to satisfy a craving, but not something that would win over someone who wasn’t already into it. 😵 Hard Pass ❌ They do have one dish that’s just… not good. That chicken soup… really strange flavor 🥲 Has anyone else tried it? Would love to hear your thoughts because… it’s hard to describe, but it’s definitely not just me! 📍 Borit Gogae 3464 W 8th St, Los Angeles, CA 90005 #LAEats #LAFood #InternationalStudent #Ktown #KoreanFood #Bibimbap #StonePotRice
