Italian Dining in Pasadena|Marina 🇮🇹

Catching up on my August Dine LA experience! Before going, two groups of friends had already tried it and gave pretty good reviews—so my expectations were high. But after eating there… well, let’s just say taste is subjective 😅. 🍽️ Food: 2.5/5 The 3-course meal was $65—a bit pricey considering what you get. • Red Beets and Tomato Gazpacho Shooter: Rich and intense—actually really tasty! Ranked #2 of the night for me. • Squash Blossom: Reminded me of fried pumpkin blossoms from my childhood. The ricotta filling was nice, but the sauce underneath was bitter. The waiter said it was intentional—to add “layers” to the dish. 🤔 • Hamachi Crudo: The best dish of the night! The sauce was perfectly balanced. After this, we thought the meal was going to be great… but it was all downhill from here. • Shrimp alla Vodka: Okay for the first two bites, but then it got way too salty. Loved the pasta texture, but the sauce was overwhelming. • Seared Striped Bass: The crispy skin was nice, but the fish was overcooked. And again—the sauce was too salty. Both main courses were disappointments. • Hazelnut Gelato: Just average, though the nutty crunch was good. • Tiramisu: Not bad—nice and moist. But ours looked like it was scooped from a big batch, while my friend’s visit featured elegant glass servings. 🍮 🍷 Drinks: Didn’t order any this time. 🌿 Ambiance: 4/5 We went early, so it was quiet and comfortable—nice vibe. 💁 Service: 3.5/5 The server was friendly—explained each dish and checked in when clearing plates. Met expectations but didn’t exceed them. 📊 Overall: 3/5 Have you been to Marina? What’s your favorite Italian spot in Pasadena?
