Italy 🇮🇹 Turin · One-Day Tour Guide (Painstakingly Compiled)
I. History👌 Turin is located in the Piedmont region (one of the birthplaces of Italian unification~). It originated in ancient Roman times as a military settlement and later became the capital of Italy in the 17th and 19th centuries. Its architectural style is primarily classical and Baroque. II. Attractions & Activities🎶 1️⃣ Royal Palace of Turin The former residence of the House of Savoy. You can stroll around the exterior to admire the palace’s layout and design, or explore the interior (allow at least 1 hour). The Royal Gardens, gallery, and lavish indoor decorations offer a glimpse into the opulent lives of the royals. 2️⃣ Egyptian Museum Surprisingly, Turin is home to the world’s second-largest Egyptian museum (the first is, of course, in Cairo). With over 30,000 artifacts on display, you can even see mummies through the glass cases (both wrapped and unwrapped). I didn’t dare take many photos—it felt a bit eerie. Allocate at least 2 hours here. If you get tired, take a break at the museum’s café to recharge.😊 3️⃣ Turin Cathedral Many visitors are drawn here by the Shroud of Turin (believed to be the burial cloth of Jesus), a sacred religious relic. The cathedral dates back to the Renaissance period.💕 4️⃣ Grand Market Turin has many large markets, including outdoor stalls selling clothes, meat, cheese, fruits, vegetables, staples, and more. There are also indoor markets (similar to Finland’s red houses) where you can buy sliced pizza. The atmosphere is vibrant and lively (Tip: It can get crowded and chaotic, so keep an eye on your belongings).😘 5️⃣ Turin’s Signature Drink: Bicerin We tried the Bicerin at Baratti & Milano, a drink iconic enough to be Turin’s postcard beverage. It’s a mix of hot chocolate, coffee, and cream—sweet and not too rich at first, but it gets overwhelming toward the end. One cup is enough for two people to share. I still prefer regular coffee~😁 6️⃣ Maritozzo at the Central Market Absolutely delicious! Not overly sweet, and one is never enough. The cream is smooth, and the bread is soft and fluffy (Shop: Il Pane di Raffaele d'Errico). The central market is Mercato Centrale Torino. The shop is on the left-hand side right after you enter.👍 Finally, Turin is a city best enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Take your time to soak in the lifestyle, street art, and vibrant atmosphere. It’s a city full of life and passion, worth savoring deeply. Sometimes, the most memorable part of travel isn’t the attractions themselves but the ambiance, architectural styles, historical contrasts, local vibes, and the way people embrace life.😘 #Italy #ItalianTravel #Turin #Travel #Tourism #Guide #OneDayTour #TravelTips #CulturalAttractions #Explore 🌍✨
