š° Italy | Hidden Treasure Castle in the Western Suburbs of Turin š
Castello di Rivoli, nestled in the western outskirts of Turin, Italy, is one of the most richly endowed and uniquely exhibited museums I have ever visited. It ranks in my TOP 3! š° Originally used by the royal family, Castello di Rivoli served as a military strategic defense base during World War II. It was later refurbished by architects in the 1980s and transformed into a contemporary art museum. The Gothic architectural space provides a unique setting for contemporary art, housing a vast collection of approximately 1800 artworks that span across time and geography. The presentation of Cattelan's Novecento in the white cube is far less striking than its display within the ancient castle walls. During the pandemic, the museum allocated a space as a local vaccination center, allowing people to admire the murals on the walls while getting vaccinated. The director believes that art has always been about providing help and healing, and the museum will continue to uphold the mission of "Art Helps." š The museum is about 20km from downtown Turin, Italy. It is recommended to drive or take a taxi there. If you use local Radio Taxi or Pronto Taxi, you can get a 5ā¬ discount by showing the receipt at the museum. By public transportation, take the metro from the city center to Paradiso station and transfer to bus number 36 to the end station. š« Admission: 10 ā¬ šš»āāļø Recommendation Index: āāāāā #ArtPilgrim #Art #ContemporaryArt #Museum #MustVisitMuseum #ArchitecturalDesign #AestheticAccumulation #Exhibition #ArtExhibition #ArtDestination #Italy #ItalyTravelGuide #Turin
