🗻🚄 Japan | Fujikawaguchiko 🚄
The day before April, I checked that the visibility of Mt. Fuji was very high, so I went to Kawaguchiko and felt like I had gone through an ordeal. 🚄 Trains 1️⃣ The most convenient train is definitely the Fuji Kyuko Line (Figure 4) which goes directly to Kawaguchiko Station. If you have a Tokyo Wide Pass, you can also book a reserved seat directly. However, ❗️ during the peak tourist season, if you haven't booked a reserved seat to Kawaguchiko Station, it's not recommended to board the train and try to get a ticket or try for a non-reserved seat; you'll end up standing in a crowded train (personal experience). 2️⃣ If you can't get a reserved seat directly to Kawaguchiko, the next best option is to buy a reserved seat to Otsuki. The Fuji Kyuko Line has 9 carriages, and when you arrive at Otsuki Station, the first three carriages will separate from the last six. The first three continue on to Kawaguchiko. After comfortably sitting until Otsuki Station, take your luggage, get off, and immediately rush to the front carriages to board again is the most efficient method, then stand from Otsuki Station to Kawaguchiko Station. 🚉 Non-reserved vs Reserved Seats 1️⃣ The difference between whether a seat is reserved or not is indicated by the lights above the seats: Green means it's reserved and you can't sit there. Yellow means someone has reserved it from the next station, so give up the seat in advance. Red means it's reserved and you can't sit there. Generally, if you get on the train with a try-your-luck attitude, pay attention to the lights above the seats, and if you're lucky, you can sit all the way to the end under the red lights. 📣 In summary, seeing Mt. Fuji on a day with high visibility is quite striking, but that's about it. The Kawaguchiko area is bustling with people, making it very difficult to take photos, and the whole mountain has more of a commercial atmosphere. A word of advice: if you haven't arranged in advance and booked train/bus tickets, consider renting a car! If you don't have a Tokyo Wide Pass, take the bus! If you're not interested in tourist attractions, it's better not to go; it could lead to misfortune. #FujiKawaguchiko #FujiKawaguchikoStrategy #JapanTravelGuide #MtFuji #Kawaguchiko #JapanTransportationGuide
