Japanese Sandwiches for Lunch 🍵 & Cuban Food for Dinner 🥘
Started the day with a workout session with friends 🏋🏻♀️, then headed to Brio Brio Bakery for lunch—a lovely Japanese bakery! Their matcha is seriously amazing—rich and flavorful 🍵. They recently launched a black sesame version, which was also great! We ordered the tuna sandwich 🥪 and egg sandwich 🥚—both on fluffy, thick Japanese-style toast. So satisfying and carb-loaded—this is why we work out, right? 😆 In the evening, we met up at Habana, a Cuban restaurant at the Spectrum Center. The décor was gorgeous, and they welcomed us with a complimentary glass of champagne! 🥂 There was even live music and dancing 💃—so loud we had to shout to hear each other, but it was super fun! We tried: 🐙 Fried octopus & 🍟 fried yuca as appetizers 🥟 Empanadas (their signature dish!) with four fillings: cheese, shrimp, chicken, and veggie 🍖 Braised pork with fried plantains—a classic Cuban combo. The pork was surprisingly tender and tasty! 🥩 A massive steak served tableside with a fun cutting performance 🦞 Lobster paella as the star of the night—so delicious, though I totally forgot to take a photo (maybe had one too many drinks 🥴).
