Japanese Yakitori Restaurant in San Mateo--Izakaya Fusion Grill Keitan
๐ชAmbience ๐๐๐๐๐ The entire restaurant is decorated in an ultra-Japanese style, and the second floor by the window offers a view of the traffic below. The atmosphere here is truly unbeatable! It's the kind of place that's popular but not overcrowded like some Instagram hotspots where you feel like you need to eat and leave quickly. It's perfect for sitting with your partner or friends in the evening, enjoying yakitori, chatting, and having a drink. ๐ขDishes ๐๐๐๐๐ There's a good variety of options, and many dishes can be chosen to be grilled with either sauce or salt. I find the salt-grilled taste too plain, so I mostly chose the sauce-grilled, which was delicious. ๐Meat Yakitori, the Japanese pineapple and beef are really tasty!! Although a bit pricey, the burst of fat in your mouth is so flavorful. The grilled pineapple in the middle neutralizes the greasiness of the meat. The pork neck meat is also great, becoming more fragrant the more you chew with the sauce. Seafood like sea urchin and scallops are also very fresh. ๐ฅฌAmong the vegetables , the best is the mentaiko zucchini, which is torched with a flame gun after being served. The mentaiko sauce is amazing. The grilled mini pineapple is also a good palate cleanser, refreshing and greasy-busting! Grilled enoki mushrooms and roasted okra are also recommended. ๐The beef donburi more delicious than it looks, very flavorful. After eating a lot of meat, having some carbs is really satisfying, haha๐. Fried banana is delicious when it's hot, but once it cools down, it becomes a bit too sweet. ๐ Izakaya Fusion Grill Keitan ๐35 E 3rd Ave, San Mateo, CA 94401 #San Mateo#Izakaya Fusion Grill Keitan#food diary #Yakitori Restaurant
