Joey: A New Popular Spot at Newport Beach Fashion Island 🥩
Joey, the newly opened trending restaurant inside Newport Beach Fashion Island, draws a mostly white clientele—and it’s always bustling! Whether it’s lunch or dinner, the place is packed, and the crowd skews younger. We made a reservation ahead of time, and as a nice touch, they offered complimentary champagne at the door 🥂—though it wasn’t anything special, to be honest. I’d eaten at the Joey location in downtown Los Angeles before, and that one’s just as busy too! But this Newport Beach outpost has a much nicer, more stylish decor. The menu is the same across locations, and while the prices aren’t cheap, the food mostly delivers. For appetizers, we got the crab cake 🦀🦐. We also ordered truffle fries 🍟 for the kids and a grilled cheese sandwich 🥪. My friend and I split a bone-in ribeye steak 🥩—it’s $99 a plate, but the portion is huge, and it was cooked perfectly, nice and tender. Then there was the cheeseburger 🍔—my friend had just come back to the US after a while, and she was dying to have a classic American burger, so that was a must. It was solid, nothing fancy but tasty. Overall, the service was great, and the adjacent parking lot is nice and spacious—super convenient. What made the meal even better was catching up with my friend: we hadn’t seen each other in almost two years, so getting to grab dinner together while she’s back in the US was such a happy moment! 453 Newport Beach Dr, Newport Beach CA 92660 #LosAngelesFood #LAFoodie #LALife #LosAngelesEats #IrvineLife #IrvineFood #IrvineEats #NewportBeach #BrunchLA #OrangeCountyEats #RibeyeSteak
