Kagawa Prefectural Government Building(2)
It was only upon approaching closely that I realized the strong presence of wood in this buildingโthe wooden grain patterns on the concrete surface, the wooden handrails of the stairs, and the concrete cantilevers that imitate traditional wooden structures... ๐๐ Under the warm, yellowish light, these details became the warm flesh on the building's skeletal frame. ๐๏ธโจ I was reminded of the atmosphere of Horyu-ji Temple and the Five-Storied Pagoda; it felt as if the building was gently embracing my presence. ๐ ๐๐ What impressed me was that both the architectural space and its management are as open to the public as possible. The space along the road is elevated, and the first floor of the tower has comfortable lounging areas and small exhibitions that are freely accessible. ๐๏ธโจ The furniture in the lounging areas is superbly designed, complementing the architecture perfectly. ๐ฟ As a building constructed over 60 years ago, its maintenance and preservation are truly remarkable. ๐๐ Every detail has been carefully looked after, ensuring that it remains a welcoming and functional space for everyone. ๐๏ธโจ #Architecture #WoodAndConcrete #PublicSpaces ๐๐
