Kanazawa Castle & Kenrokuen
Experience a Japanese Castle and Its Back Garden ππΈ The domain of the feudal lords during the Edo period, Kenrokuen is truly beautiful, exquisitely so! πKenrokuen embodies the six essential qualities of a garden: spaciousness, seclusion, artificiality, antiquity, water features, and panoramic views. I think I managed to capture them all in my photos. π Kanazawa Castle was built for defense. Some of its structures were destroyed by three major fires, so there isn't much left to see. ππΈ However, I happened to visit during the Hyakumangoku Festival, where dragon dances brought good luck to the little ones. π πI took a quick stroll through the chaya (teahouse) district. It's not very large, but the highlight was experiencing the local culture by visiting a shrine. I drew a "medium good fortune" slip, which means if I work hard, my luck might improve just a bit. I think that's pretty fitting for my current situation. πΏ ππΈ The local specialty of Kanazawa is gold leaf ice cream. It costs about 50 bucks, and it tastes like regular ice cream. But hey, it's all about the local culture! π¦ #travel #JapanTravel #Kanazawa #Kenrokuen
