Kandy's tea factory--Kadugannawa

Kandy Attractions On our way to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, we encountered elephants . The locals told us that we were very lucky and wished us good fortune every day, and I wish you all good luck as well. ☀️ 🩶Kadugannawa This tea factory is somewhat famous locally, and there were already many travel groups tasting tea when we arrived. The staff member who received us was a beautiful local girl (p11), who could explain and communicate in Chinese, which is very convenient for Chinese tourists. She took us on a tour of the tea factory and introduced us to the origin, craftsmanship, and production process of Ceylon tea. She also told us that the teas here come in several flavors – light → medium light → strong → silver tip → gold tip, with the gold tip being the highest quality, lowest in quantity, and highest in price. We tasted three types of tea at the factory for free, which were light, medium light, and gold tip. Since I rarely drink tea, I preferred the light one (p10). The price of tea here is much cheaper than in China. I bought two cans of Ceylon tea (p12), 150g each, for a total of 90 yuan, and they accepted payment in Chinese yuan. I paid 100 yuan and was given the change in rupees according to the exchange rate. The tea factory entrance is also a great spot for photos . 🩵Handicraft Store The tuk-tuk driver took us to a treasure trove of a handicraft store where the wooden crafts were all very exquisite, hence the prices were a bit higher than ordinary shops. My child bought a set of palm wood tea cups for $12, and the owner said they were made from whole pieces of wood without glue. In addition to palm wood products, the store also sells other wooden items, such as plates and utensils made from coconut wood. The colorful jewelry boxes and masks hanging on the wall are also very beautiful. 🚥Transportation ➡️ We chose to take a tuk-tuk directly from the hotel in the morning, spending a day visiting the classic attractions of Kandy, and then taking a bus to Nuwara Eliya after four in the afternoon. I believe that tuk-tuks are the best choice for city travel, saving time and effort compared to public transportation, which means saving money. They also offer better value for money and flexibility compared to hiring a car for the whole trip. #Kadugannawa#Kandy#trip diary# tea factory#Sri lanka
