Lake Biwa Canal πΏπ The Lake Biwa Canal stretches from Otsu City in Shiga Prefecture to Kusatsu in Kyoto. Rows of cherry blossom trees line both sides of the canal, forming a cherry blossom tunnel in spring. Heading up the mountain brings you to Mitsui-ji Temple. Although we didnβt manage to get a reservation for the Moon-Viewing Stage, the views from the hill were stunning! π πΏπ Kaizu Ohashi, a 4-kilometer-long cherry blossom tunnel by Lake Biwa, can be reached by renting bicycles from JR "Makino Station." We arrived too late and were "politely declined" by the station staff. Walking there and back was about 4 km, but taking photos along the way made it feel effortless. πΏπ By the time we got back to the hotel that night, we were completely exhausted! π π For the latest cherry blossom forecasts and real-time updates, I highly recommend this website: Weather News.
