Kansas City Cross-State Adventure 🍁🚗

Spent our fall break exploring Kansas City, Missouri—a 4.5-day road trip (including travel days)! Here’s the recap: Friday: After school, drove to Tulsa and stayed at Holiday Inn Express South Bixby. Saturday: Arrived in Kansas City! 1️⃣ Union Station & Science City A grand, historic train station with a post office, theater, and cafes. Science City was free with our membership! Enjoyed Halloween decorations, robot helicopters, a train museum, and an outdoor playground. 💰 Parking tip: Use the car garage—$6 for 4 hours! 2️⃣ Nelson-Atkins Museum A must-visit! Saw precious Chinese sculptures, including the famous Water-Moon Guanyin. Explored Asian, European, African, and American art sections. 3️⃣ WWI Museum Displayed military artifacts, weapons, and a short film about the war’s origins. Great for history buffs—kids entered free! Sunday: 4️⃣ Toy & Miniature Museum Free admission day! Two floors of delicate miniatures, dolls, and vintage toys—kids loved it! 🧸 5️⃣ Johnson County Museum (Kansas side) Local history exhibits + Childscape—a fun interactive area where kids "drive" boats, trains, and role-play in hospitals or markets. 6️⃣ Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead (Kansas) Free after 2 PM! Halloween decor, farm animals, feeding zones, gardens, and horse-drawn wagon rides. 🐴 7️⃣ Museum at Prairiefire (Kansas) Stunning architecture + dinosaur exhibits, marine specimens, masks, and global currency displays. 🏨 Accommodation: Stayed at Drury Inn, Overland Park—a family-friendly area with a strong community vibe.
