Spent our fall break exploring Kansas City, Missouriāa 4.5-day road trip (including travel days)! Hereās the recap: Friday: After school, drove to Tulsa and stayed at Holiday Inn Express South Bixby. Saturday: Arrived in Kansas City! 1ļøā£ Union Station & Science City A grand, historic train station with a post office, theater, and cafes. Science City was free with our membership! Enjoyed Halloween decorations, robot helicopters, a train museum, and an outdoor playground. š° Parking tip: Use the car garageā$6 for 4 hours! 2ļøā£ Nelson-Atkins Museum A must-visit! Saw precious Chinese sculptures, including the famous Water-Moon Guanyin. Explored Asian, European, African, and American art sections. 3ļøā£ WWI Museum Displayed military artifacts, weapons, and a short film about the warās origins. Great for history buffsākids entered free! Sunday: 4ļøā£ Toy & Miniature Museum Free admission day! Two floors of delicate miniatures, dolls, and vintage toysākids loved it! š§ø 5ļøā£ Johnson County Museum (Kansas side) Local history exhibits + Childscapeāa fun interactive area where kids "drive" boats, trains, and role-play in hospitals or markets. 6ļøā£ Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead (Kansas) Free after 2 PM! Halloween decor, farm animals, feeding zones, gardens, and horse-drawn wagon rides. š“ 7ļøā£ Museum at Prairiefire (Kansas) Stunning architecture + dinosaur exhibits, marine specimens, masks, and global currency displays. šØ Accommodation: Stayed at Drury Inn, Overland Parkāa family-friendly area with a strong community vibe.
