Kansas City Trip (1) đđ¨
On the way to Dallas, we made a stop in Kansas City for a day! We visited the art museum, checked out the stadium, and saw the memorialâpretty much covered it all đ. Here are some tips for those interested! Kansas City is a fun placeâtechnically part of Missouri, so when youâre in Kansas City, youâre not actually in Kansas yet! But the city spans two states, and before you know it, youâve crossed into Kansas. Keep an eye on your GPSâitâs a quirky experience! đşď¸ For me, itâs one of those places thatâs âtotally worth a visit if youâre passing by, but not worth a special tripâ đ. Itâs perfect for a short getaway or a road trip stop. The art museum here is absolutely stunningâboth indoors and outdoors, including the architecture itself. The central atrium houses a restaurant and lounge, making it easy to spend a whole day exploring and dining. Sadly, we didnât have enough time to see everything, so Iâll have to come back! đ¨ The museum features original works by Van Gogh, Monet, Pissarro, and Fontaineâsome without even glass protection, so you can really appreciate the details. We even saw a university class there for an art appreciation lessonâeveryone was so focused and serious, which was inspiring. Can you imagine seeing the actual paintings from your childhood art textbooks right in front of you? đ The famous Water-Moon Guanyin (P9) is truly magnificentâlifelike and awe-inspiring. The memorial is the best spot for a panoramic view of Kansas City. Thereâs free parking at the base, and from the top, you can see the city skyline and the iconic Union Station (P14-P15). We even stumbled upon a couple taking wedding photosâthe groom wore a cowboy hat, so stylish! This is definitely a classic wedding photo spot in Kansas City. đ And of course, you canât miss the Chiefsâ stadium! This team won two Super Bowls in three years, so theyâre basically local royalty. Youâll see people of all ages wearing bright red jerseys everywhere. But having just visited Dallasâs AT&T Stadium, I have to sayâthat one is newer and more modern. This one is more about the spirit and passion! The sea of red seats is electrating. đâ¤ď¸ #KansasCity #KansasTravel #TheNelsonAtkinsMuseumOfArt
