Kansas City Trip Part 1: WWI Museum šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Kansas City, the largest city in Missouri, sits right at the border of Missouri and Kansas. It’s also home to one of the Federal Reserve Banks. As a Midwestern city, Kansas City has its own charm, though it may not offer as many attractions as the coastal cities. Two days are ideal for exploring, but a one-day trip can also cover the highlights! The National WWI Museum and Memorial is a must-visit. Tickets include access to three parts: the Main Gallery, the Memorial Tower, and a special exhibition. šŸ›ļø Memorial Tower Purchase the tower ticket for elevator access to the top! The panoramic view of downtown KC’s skyline is absolutely worth it—perfect for photos! šŸŒ† šŸŖ™ Main Gallery This section offers a detailed history of World War I, including artifacts related to China’s participation. Though not a major power at the time, the U.S.’s involvement in WWI laid the groundwork for its role in WWII—and even shaped the career of Kansas City’s own Harry Truman. šŸŽØ Special Exhibition The ā€œLittle Warā€ exhibition is skippable—it features a mural and flags of participating nations, but isn’t essential. šŸš‰ Union Station Right next to the museum, this historic train station is still in use. Stop by to admire its grand interior—parking is $7. Fun fact: A 2026 World Cup quarterfinal match will be held here! šŸ† šŸ– Jack Stack BBQ Behind the station, don’t miss this famous BBQ spot! Their grilled lamb ribs are a must-try. Be sure to make a reservation—it’s always busy! #KansasCity #WWIMuseum #UnionStation #BBQ #TravelUSA #MidwestAdventures
