Kirkland’s Delicious Hand-Pulled Noodles and Taro Mud Pancakes
Fang’s Noodle House, Kirkland A small shop with slow service, but it has a lot of character. The decor with the national cartoon girl suggests a connection with the pancake master 😏 🌟 Beef Bone Hand-Pulled Noodles The beef ribs are tender and can be pulled apart to eat, stewed to perfection. The noodles are super chewy and have a great texture, earning a thumbs-up from my Northern friends. The flavor of the noodles was a bit Americanized (like biang biang noodle - a sweet and spicy mix) the first time I tried it, but the second time it was more Chinese and delicious! This shows that the chef might have a shaky hand with seasoning (which is a good sign - at least it’s not pre-made food, right?) It might be a bit oily, but it’s very fragrant. 🌟 Taro Mud Pancake The crispy pancake combined with the sweet and glutinous taro mud is a perfect blend! The taro mud isn’t overly sweet, and the overall flavor is just right. The only downside is that one serving is too small and not enough to satisfy. 🤷 Pork and Cabbage Steamed Dumplings Nothing special, my Northern friends found the filling not authentic enough, but it’s not bad either. ❌ Chicken Soup Wontons Not tasty, the wonton filling isn’t fresh. ❌ Soy Milk Very ordinary………. In summary, highly recommended for the hand-pulled noodles and taro mud pancakes! The wontons and dumplings are subjective. #Seattle #SeattleFood #SeattleFoodExploration
