š¦ Kirkland Seafood Bistro | Rockcreekās New Branch
Rockcreekās newly opened East District branch is in a prime downtown location. It might just be the restaurant with the highest percentage of Caucasians Iāve been to in Seattle⦠The prices seem to have gone up since my last visit to the Fremont store. š Hokkaido Scallops: The best dish by far, the scallops are seared on the outside with a bouncy texture in the middle. The side dishes are delicious, and the round pasta at the bottom is tomato-flavored. š Half Dungeness Crab: The quality of the ingredients is better than some Cantonese restaurants, with tender meat. However, the seasoning and cooking method are a bit quirky, giving it a Southeast Asian fusion vibe. I donāt think itās worth $50⦠š Perch in Lettuce Wrap: Perch chunks with peanuts, a very Chinese cooking style⦠Itās like a Kung Pao fish fillet with lettuce, similar to Panda Express. š Hamachi Crudo: This is what it looked like after I ate two pieces, but for over $20, you get only four pieces of fish with ordinary seasoning. š Sāmores: The top is toasted meringue, and the bottom is a cold chocolate mousse. The first bite is amazing, but after three bites, you might need insulin to go with it. Itās nice to share among a few people. Average cost per person is $100, with excellent service, environment, and atmosphere. This place has several other branches, and for some reason, they are very persistent with the Asian fusion approach. Generally, as long as they stick to traditional Western cuisine, there are no misses. But whenever they try to challenge Asian flavors, the results can be quite odd⦠I still highly recommend the scallops and the whole grilled perch. š RockCreek #SeattleRestaurants #SeattleSeafood #SeattleFoodExploration
