🍑 Kurashiki, Okayama | A Leisurely Half-Day Tour 🍑

⭐️ Kurashiki is just a few minutes' drive from Okayama City. When traveling to Okayama, most people allocate half or a full day to visit. The map is in Figure 15. 🌿 The Kankou Area may not have any iconic attractions, but taking a leisurely stroll is quite comfortable. It was my third visit in August this year, with scorching heat and great weather that didn't need photo editing. Eleven years have passed since my first visit, and everything around is still so familiar, 🦢 even the geese in the river are the same! 💫 My first visit was in March 2012. Back then, I hadn't been to Japan many times and was amazed by the picturesque water town charm of the Kankou Area and the atmospheric feeling of the Edo period. It was so impressive that later, whenever I saw stone bridges, small rivers, and white-walled buildings in Edo period films, I thought they were shot in Kurashiki. In the evening, I went again to see the lighting event and the silhouette play "Shunshō Kojiki." 🌸 The second time was in April 2015, catching the tail end of the cherry blossom season with falling petals. I took a boat tour along the Kurashiki River and saw several newlywed couples, which was a unique sight. ✨ If you want to visit art museums, the Ohara Museum collects works from many art masters such as Monet, Rodin, and Picasso. There is also the Kurashiki Toy Museum, Safe Museum, Archaeological Museum, Insect Museum, and Japanese Local Toy Museum. 🌟 Strolling around, you can find many shops selling denim clothing and products because Kurashiki's Kojima area is the birthplace of Japanese denim. This place is also the origin of washi tape, with many stationery stores. Friends who like cats and dogs can visit the Kennekoya, which is full of related merchandise. Nearby, there are soybean flour coffee, cat cafes, and owl cafes! 🍽 Dining recommendations: Okayama is famous for its peaches, so don't miss the white peaches if you see them! 🍑 Kurashiki's dessert shop, Kurashiki Momo, has four branches, each with different limited parfaits, but they all have good looks and taste. 🍨 It is said that blue is a color that reduces appetite... But here, there are blue-colored ice creams and denim-colored buns. Would you like to try them? TIPS: On the other side of Kurashiki Station is the Mitsui Outlet Park. If you want to shop, you need to allocate more time. Although there are a few hotels and inns in front of Kurashiki Station and in the Kankou Area, I personally think it's more convenient to stay in Okayama. 🚎 Transportation: Take the train from Okayama Station to Kurashiki Station, and it's about ten minutes on foot to the Kankou Area. #TheMeaningOfPhotosIsToMakeMomentsEternal #JapanTravel #WeekendGetaways #OkayamaJapan #JapanDenim#KurashikiJapan #KurashikiKankouArea #JapanExplorationFood #WhatToBuyInJapan #JapanOffTheBeatenPathTravel
