Kyoto’s Beauty (2): The Philosopher’s Path
Walk for 10 minutes to the real highlight: The Philosopher’s Path. It’s not crowded here. 🌊🎢 Ducks and egrets paddle in the stream by the roadside. The narrow path is lined with quiet little shops, but there’s nothing that really tempts you to buy. 🌟🌸 Street performers are everywhere. The author snapped a few photos of a crystal ball performer who struck all sorts of poses. In the end, he said, “1000 yen.” 💫 Eventually, you reach Ginkaku-ji (Silver Pavilion). Among Kyoto’s hundreds of temples, it’s just ordinary. 🧘♂️ 🌊🎢 If you have time left, wander around nearby Heian Shrine, Takefu Inari Shrine, and Okazaki Shrine. 🌟🌸They’re much livelier than here, but in Kyoto during cherry blossom season, they’re just ordinary too. 🌸 The Philosopher’s Path is called a hidden gem maybe because it has no trendy shops and isn’t easy to reach. But what makes it truly wonderful isn’t just the cherry blossoms. 🌊🎢 It’s the lovely people and things you find here: a woman quietly reading by the roadside in a top-tier scenery, stone Buddha statues everywhere, and, above all, the extreme tranquility. It’s perfect for a solo visit. If you’re an interesting person, you’ll still come back here after seeing other places in Kyoto. 🌿 #Unconventional #KyotoCherryBlossoms #CherryBlossomSeason 🌟
