Kyoto | Ginkaku-ji, Eikando, Nanzanji
I visited three temples in a row, each with its own unique charm. 🌇🌿 Ginkaku-ji (Jisho-ji) p2 The most beautiful of the three, with its dry landscape garden (karesansui) and the Hall of Kannon complementing each other. The surrounding garden and pine tree arrangements are meticulously designed. 🌇🌿 The pond in front of the pavilion is the highlight of the tour route and looks stunning even in winter. 🌟 Eikando (Zenrin-ji) p3 Eikando is the most famous hall of Zenrin-ji, and it is truly magnificent. Built against the mountainside, the temple features many wooden corridors winding around the hill. 🌇🌿 The spiral staircase here is a popular photo spot. I've heard that the autumn leaves at Eikando are the most beautiful 🍁, and I can't wait to see them next time. Nanzanji p1 Nanzanji has a large complex of buildings. 🌿Within the temple grounds, there are several courtyards like the South Zen Garden and Tenshu-an, which require separate admission fees. On this trip, I only visited the Abbot's Garden, which is a quintessential example of Japanese dry landscape gardening. 🌇🌿 The combination of the dry landscape, plants, courtyard walls, and architecture in the Great Abbot's Garden is particularly picturesque. You can comfortably sit under the eaves of the buildings and enjoy the beautiful scenery. 🌇🌿 #Kyoto 🌇🌿
