Kyoto | Which One to Visit: Oku-no-in, Sanzen-in, or Rurikō-in🌿🌊

Having visited all three, I’m here to share my experience with you today. 📍Sanzen-in 🎫Admission: 700 yen 🕰️Opening Hours: 9:00 - 17:00 💃🏻Suggested Visit Time: 1 - 2 hours ✨Sanzen-in is a quintessential Japanese garden. Wherever you look, you see greenery. You can sit in the garden, sip some tea🍵, and chat with friends. 🌿🌊 Follow the signs and you’ll see the iconic red bridge. The bright red stands out beautifully against the green forest, and the backyard of Sanzen-in is perfect for taking stunning photos. 📍Oku-no-in Shrine 🎫Admission: Free 🕰️Opening Hours: 9:00 - 17:00 💃🏻Suggested Visit Time: 1 - 2 hours ✨You can take a tram🚎 to Oku-no-in. The journey there feels like sailing through a sea of green🌲. Oku-no-in is best visited on a summer morning. The morning sun, dew, and lush green trees create a serene atmosphere. Oku-no-in is also famous for its kawadoko dining, where you eat on a platform over a stream. If you want to try it, go early. 📍Rurikō-in 🎫Admission: 2000 yen 🕰️Opening Hours: Only in spring and autumn 💃🏻Suggested Visit Time: 1 hour ✨Located at the foot of Mount Hiei in Kyoto, Rurikō-in is only open during spring and autumn. So if you want to visit, make sure to check the dates. In spring, Rurikō-in is full of greenery, with young maple leaves reflecting on the black lacquer tables of the study, creating the famous “maple reflection.” 🤔The downside is that the garden is quite small. If you’re into photography, it’s worth a visit.
