Kyoto Higashiyama Hidden Gems 🍃
Kodai-ji Temple & Daio-in Temple 🌊🎢 Everyone knows the famous spots in Kyoto's Higashiyama area like "Yasaka Shrine, Gion, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple." A few more people might mention "Jōraku-ji Temple," but nestled among them are the lesser-known "Kodai-ji Temple and Daio-in Temple." 🌿 🍃 Kodai-ji Temple's green-sloped gardens, tranquil courtyards, and bamboo groves are all worth a visit. 🌟🌸The place is less crowded, which adds to its charm. Nearby Daio-in Temple houses the stunning "Gion-kaku," a beautiful structure that was once part of the Kyoto residence of the founder of the Daikoku Financial Group, Kihachiro Daikoku. 🌊🎢 Designed by the renowned architect Chūta Itō, this early Showa period masterpiece stands at 36 meters tall. To offer a better view of the Gion Festival, the interior was opened to the public in July this year. 🌟🌸 Visitors can admire the beautiful murals inside. Unfortunately, the tour ends on September 30th, and the temple closes at 4 p.m. daily. 🌇 #KyotoTravel #HigashiyamaKyoto #KyotoStay #Kyoto 🌸
