Kyoto National Museum Heisei Chishinkan
A hundred-meter-long ceremonial path stretches between the entrance and the main building, with the old museum on the right-hand side as you walk, heightening the anticipation for the interior space. ๐๐ข The architectural logic is straightforward, with ancillary spaces flanking the exhibition halls. There are indeed many blank spaces within, perfect for quiet contemplation. ๐๐ธ Mr. Taniguchi's design is influenced by Japanese Zen philosophy. ๐จFrom the perspective of Japanese Zen, the concept of emptiness (Kลซ) is about achieving a higher level of awareness by eliminating unnecessary elements.> After the snow stopped, the high reflectivity of the environment made the interior space even brighter and warmer. ๐๐ข Regrettably, the day's itinerary didn't allow for a longer stay. ๐จExhibitions are not the only purpose; perhaps the architecture is more welcoming to those with a calm inner spirit. I think his design intention has been achieved. ๐๐ธ #KyotoTravel ๐ #Kyoto ๐จ #YoshiharuTaniguchi #ArchitecturalDesign ๐จ
